Mendieta and Warhol

There were artists who have expressed their feelings, emotion, tension and from their own story. Each an every artist has their own story to tell. Between the artwork of Ana Mendieta and Andy Warhol they have a lot of things that can they relate along with the artistics and their creativities. The two artists have expressed their themes a lot when their visions told their stories, it is like their experiences of how they grew up, how they were raised and what they have experienced.

The prevalent things that I have noticed in their arts, From what I have seen from Ana Mendieta, I have seen who she has experienced pain, tragedy, horror and she had used her art to express the emotion through her creativeness and her documentary film that even stated about her experiences of her life as A woman. He life explains deeper meanings as her story would tell.

With Andy Warhol's story, it's quite similar but in his ways.

Ana Mendieta  was born in November 12th, 1948 In Havana, Cuba. She was A Cuban American sculpture artist, A video, photography artist who is well known for “Earth-Body” art works. At the age of 12 she was exiled and was sended into orphanage in Iowa.

She had used the earth art for to use as address issues as displacements and by using her body in many outdoor places and using their videos and photographs of expressing her arts. In her silueta works, she has been working on them from 1973-1977. As often as she could, she would fill in the silhouettes with certain materials like, wood, rocks, flowers, sticks, stones and even blood. She would persuade her art as as of combining to make spiritual rituals.

From her perspectives, she wanted to appeal the magic, the knowledge and the power of her primitive arts. SHe wanted to express her own livelihood of and the never ending life of nature itself. SHe had used her own blood to use the tracing of her own body, their outlines. In her final days, Mendieta has died at the age of 36. She had fell out of 34th floor apartment window. Stated who it was caused by her husband, the artist Carl Andre who was being held accounted of her death.

Andy Warhol was an American artist, director and producer who was A leading figure into the visual arts movements known as pop arts. He was one of the most popular artists of all time. Warhol was born in August 6th, 1928 in Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. At the age of Eight he had sometimes experienced fatal diseases in his nervous system which had left him bedridden for three months. His mother, Julia Warhola was an artist and he had gave him drawing lessons during his sickness, then later he become A fan of movies and Digital photography.

He had expanded his mind with variety of many art forms along with his performances and mainstream aesthetics. With his arts and his creativity he had expanded his nurture by the relationships of between the artistic expressions, celebrities figures and advertising expressions which was flourished in the 1960s and have expanded the varieties of the media.

In his late 1950s, Warhol began drawing attention into painting and in 1961. He had first experienced into “pop art” and paintings that focused on mass of productions and commercial goods. Those small canvas day works of consumer projects it had become A major turn in the world. The biggest things in the world by bringing Warhol and Pop-Art into the light.

His art and is paintings was A big Impact everywhere. His pop paintings was advertised in soda companies and food companies as well on. He painted celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Mick Jagger and Mao Zedong.

Warhol’s Legacy was making money and works of art. In February 20th, 1987 Andy Warhol had died of an illness disease of chronic issues at the age of fifty-eight. Thousands of people had attended the Memorial at the St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City.

This is how the works of Ana and Andy have influenced of doing their arts within their own lives. Their lived experiences have influenced the way their self identities, of behind their presence is they have expressed themselves through their arts and their livelihood experiences of their tragedies. Both of these artists have not become Synonymous in their works and they are not very compatible in their works. Even they had their own tragedies, they had them in their own different ways.

Fame had played A big role in their lives because Mendieta was conducting the connections and spread the word of violence, rape and feminism in the performance of the outdoor locations. In 1979, her artwork of blood was presented in her first exhibition of photography and filming at the Prestigious A.I.R Gallery in New York.

With Andy Warhol’s side, he created factories for to embrace the places of socialites, artists and Avant-Garde where he would create films. Warhol would bring out other creative artists also had invited New York’s Underground hip elite and to make his fame greater so other artists can have a lot of opportunities. With his portraits and his works it brought the fame out of him.

With their themes and their techniques, Mendieta has used her art techniques themes as feminism, horror, blood, thrills, chills, violence and rape from her life experiences and inspired people and women to stand up against the oppressions. Warhol themes were commercial products, celebrities, death sites, self portraits of friends. These materials and these techniques were important to the subjects were influenced by pop culture and reflecting the realities of everyday life that people face, that's how they were portrayed.

These artists have invent themselves through the presentations throughout their art works. (pg.31 Introduction) Manners reflect how we think about others. The quote meaning is reflecting of the art of ourselves. “Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden charge” relating to Mendieta’s life (-Franklestien) Berger have said “What makes photography a strange invention is that its primary raw materials are light and time”-John Berger. This correlates with Andy Warhol’s work. This last one for both said by Berger: “Publicity is the life of this culture - in so far as without publicity capitalism could not survive - and at the same time publicity is its dream.” Me personally i really love their artwork and how their creativity inspires other people and along with humanity.
