This selfie takes the morbid aspects of Ana Mendieta's art and shows me as a dead girl crying her last tears on the ground. My throat is slit and my mouth is bleeding. My lips are blue from death and my eyes are blacked out, showing a lack of life in them. Also, to show the nature and homeland aspects of Ana Mendieta's work, I took various nature themes, leaves and pine cones and some fruits and vegetables, and put them in my hair as I lie, dying on the floor of my home. They represent homeland to me because I am in my home and also because the various nature themes in my hair are autumn themed and I was born in the autumn.
